Police broke into his home on Lafayette Street in Lower Manhattan at 5.20pm on Friday evening (28Aug09) after they were alerted by a concerned friend who had been unable to reach him for several days, reports TMZ.com. The New York Post is reporting that drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment. Goldstein's death, at the age of 36, comes nearly a year after he and Travis Barker were involved in a plane crash in South Carolina that killed four people. He suffered severe burns when the Learjet burst into flames after overshooting the runway. The star, who famously dated Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore, had battled drug addiction in the past and revealed earlier this year he had attempted suicide while high on crack cocaine when he was aged 24. No more information is available as WENN goes to press. (IG/PYN&WNWCZM/ZN) DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein and Travis Barker 2008 MTV Video Music Awards - Press room Los Angeles, California - 07.09.08

* BROWN SEEKING GOD AND PASTOR'S HELP TO BECOME A 'BETTER PERSON' CHRIS BROWN has released a statement, insisting most of what has been speculated or reported about his 8 February (09) fight with RIHANNA is wrong. The R&B star was arrested and charged with making criminal threats after reportedly assaulting his then-girlfriend last Sunday. A week after the incident, the troubled singer has issued his first official comments about what happened. He says, Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counselling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. Brown also insisted that statements accredited to him on community website Facebook were hoaxes, adding, While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds. Brown, 19, faces jail time if he's found guilty of beating up his ex. (KL/WN/KL) (c) 2009 WORLD ENTERTAINMENT NEWS NETWORK LTD. * SPEARS OPENS MADONNA SHOW AND WOWS STADIUM CROWD Fans didn't have to wait long for the much-hyped BRITNEY SPEARS and MADONNA collaboration at the Material Girl's Dodgers Stadium show in Los Angeles on Thursday night (06Nov08) - the pop stars opened the show. As expected, Spears joined Madonna for a version of Human Nature, but no one expected the pop pair to team up so early in the evening. Wearing black pants and a white top, Spears stunned the sold-out crowd by singing and dancing with her heroine before she was lowered beneath the stage at the end of the number as portions of the crowd cried out her name. It was a tame stage collaboration compared to the last time Madonna performed with Spears - the pair hit the headlines back in 2003 when they locked lips during a wedding themed routine at the MTV Video Music Awards. Spears' ex Justin Timberlake was also billed to perform onstage with Madonna as WENN went to press - he was set to recreate 4 Minutes, the song he recorded with Madonna for her latest album, with the Material Girl towards the end of her Dodgers Stadium show. The show was a big success, despite fears about the stage after a minor collapse on Wednesday (05Nov08). Prior to Thursday night's show, Madonna said, Even though my stage roof was damaged and some lights and effects aren't working, I want to do the show anyway because I don't want to disappoint my fans. *file photos* * BRITNEY CASE A MISTRIAL BRITNEY SPEARS' trial for driving without a licence has been scrapped, after a Van Nuys, California jury failed to reach an unanimous decision. After more than two days of deliberating, jurors returned to court on Tuesday (21Oct08) to reveal they were deadlocked, with two members voting guilty, and ten not guilty - forcing the judge to declare a mistrial. Prosecutors now have to decide whether to ask for a re-trial. The charges stem from Spears' arrest last year (07) for driving without a valid California state licence. If convicted, Spears faces a maximum six months in jail and a $1,000 (£540) fine. She has already rejected a plea deal that would have saved the case from going to trial - because it would have left her with a criminal record.
