The legends of Motown are set for a major comeback thanks to a planned TV mini-series about the birth of the Detroit, Michigan, soul label.

TV bosses at NBC in America have greenlighted the 12-hour project, which is based on Motown founder Berry Gordy's memoirs, TO BE LOVED: The Music, THE MAGIC, THE MEMORIES OF MOTOWN.

NBC boss JEFF GASPIN says, "The story of Berry Gordy's Motown is the soundtrack of America."
