The 55 year-old singer has been forced to postpone the rest of his scheduled shows due to a respiratory infection worsening, which he claims was contracted from his opening act, who had "a horrendous cold."
Morrissey has left thousands of US fans disappointed!
The remainder of the singer's US tour has been cancelled due to a respiratory infection, he contracted in Miami, worsening.
At first Morrissey rescheduled a number of shows, hoping to hit the road once he recovered, but on Tuesday (June 10th) it was confirmed that the whole entire tour was scrapped.
"It is with great sadness that the remainder of the US Tour has been cancelled. The respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami has worsened, and in the interest of making a full recovery, all further touring plans have been halted," Morrissey's Facebook post said.
Adding, "Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates."
The situation didn't end there, a peculiar post was uploaded on the fan site True to You, on Tuesday night, which accuses the tour's opening act, Kristeen Young, as the source of the respiratory infection.
The post claims Kristeen "confessed to 'a horrendous cold', the symptoms of which were passed on to Morrissey," following a show in Miami on May 31st. The female singer was then asked to leave the tour.
Upon hearing this, Kristeen quickly took to Facebook to set the record straight, claiming that she ever said she had a cold. "I had an allergy attack that was over within 16 hours," she shared (in a post restricted to "friends").
According to the musician, a doctor prescribed her the medication for the allergies, which took effect, but Morrissey's management still asked her to leave.
"I am very sorry that Morrissey is not feeling well," Young said. "But I will not tolerate these lies..particularly about my health. This is really too much and bizarre."
Morrissey has been on tour to support his upcoming album 'World Peace is None of Your Business', which will be released July 15th.
