Miranda Lambert dominated the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas last night (3rd April 2011).
27-year-old Lambert scooped four of the evening's top awards, including 'Favorite Female Vocalist', 'Record of the Year', 'Video of the Year' and 'Song of the Year' for her ballad 'The House That Built Me'. Despite dominating the ceremony, Lambert missed out on the night's most prestigious honour, 'Entertainer of the Year', which went to the singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The 21-year-old told the packed Mgm Grand audience, "I'm just losing my mind. The fact that this is from the fans makes it's so beautiful". Elsewhere, Lady Antebellum followed up their success at this year's Grammy Awards with wins in the categories of 'Album of the Year' and 'Top Vocal Group'. Live performances came from Jennifer Nettles who sang with R&B star Rihanna and Steven Tyler, who performed a duet with Carrie Underwood.
Miranda Lambert's soon-to-be husband Blake Shelton hosted the star-studded ceremony with Reba McEntire. Chace Crawford, Celine Dion, Robert Patinson and Reese Witherspoon were among the evening's A-list presenters.
