Australian model Miranda Kerr has been chosen by Victoria's Secret to model the brand's iconic 'Fantasy Treasure Bra' in the Christmas Dreams & Fantasies catalogue and during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November. The push-up brassiere features 3,400 gems and is valued at $2.5 million, reports People Magazine.
Kerr, who recently welcomed her first child with actor Orlando Bloom, said she was over-the-moon at being asked to model the iconic piece, saying, "It's such an honor to wear the bra.And it's such a piece of artwork! It's absolutely stunning - it kind of feels a little mermaid-like.but I can't believe I'm wearing $2.5 million on my chest". The aqua coloured bra, created by Long Island's London Jewellers, features 142 carats of white and yellow diamonds plus hundreds of pearls and citrines. The centrepiece features two large white diamonds, each more than 8 carats each. Jeweller Candy Udell explained, "We put a lot of love into this bra.We put a lot of our most favorite elements into it, such as the tassel - it'll be wonderful with her walking down the runway, the tassel swinging with her body. We thought about the runway show, and what would catch everyone's attention". The hotly anticipated fashion show will be Kerr's first real catwalk event since taking a one year hiatus while pregnant with son Flynn.
This year's Victoria Secret Fashion Show airs live on CBS in November. Performers scheduled for the event include rapper Kanye West and MAROON 5.
