Actress Minnie Driver is getting a boost as she embarks on a singing career - she'll support former CROWDED HOUSE stars the FINN BROTHERS when they tour Britain and Ireland.

The GOOD WILL HUNTING star has just released her debut album EVERYTHING IN MY POCKET and she's keen to tour on the back of it.

She'll open 18 dates for the Finn Brothers starting next week (15OCT04) before heading off to tour America throughout November (04), including a stop at Los Angeles' famous TROUBADOUR venue and New York's BOWERY BALLROOM.

Her backing band features the WALLFLOWERS star RAMI JAFFE.

Driver says, "It's really important that I put it across live. I know that's the only way people are going to buy me as a musical artist."

The actress admits her first live shows have been far from encouraging - especially an Oxfam charity benefit she played at recently.

She adds, "It was awful. It was like, 'What the hell is Minnie Driver doing singing?' But I pretty much won them over by the end of the set."
