LATEST: Troubled country singer Mindy McCready has been cleared of drink driving by a Nashville, Tennessee court, although she was found guilty of driving on a suspended license. The GUYS DO IT ALL THE TIME hitmaker, 30, heard the verdict yesterday (19JUL06), when she also learned the trial judge had dropped a contempt of court charge for arriving 10 minutes late on Monday (17JUL06) for the first day of court. The singer was arrested for a May 2005 speeding incident in which she refused to take a breath test. Although the arresting officers claimed she smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on her feet, her lawyer, LEE DRYER, said MCCready's field sobriety tests weren't performed properly. He argued her balance problems were the result of overly long trousers and her sore feet. Speaking outside court, MCCready revealed she's planning to pen a song about her legal woes. The singer faces another court appointment over charges she violated her probation on a 2004 drug charge by failing to meet her probation officer and leaving Tennessee for Florida without permission.
