American actress Mimi Rogers is desperate to work with Oscar-winning
director Sam Mendes when she makes her London theatre debut next year (06).
Although Rogers is yet to sign a contract to appear in a West End
production, she is adamant that when she gets to tread the boards in the
British capital, Mendes will be behind her.
She enthuses, "I've always wanted to perform on the London stage.
"The only problem in the past has been my kids. I'd want to bring them to
London with me, but they are at an important stage in high school. I could do
it next summer, which wouldn't disrupt their education quite as much.
"I'd wanted to be directed by Sam Mendes: I've heard he's the best. As for
the perfect leading man, it would have be Daniel Day-Lewis. He's gorgeous."
