Chad Michael Murray has been cast as iconic rock boss Sam Phillips in the small screen adaptation of Million Dollar Quartet.
The former One Tree Hill star will portray the Sun Records founder, who helped develop the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins - the main characters in Million Dollar Quartet.
In addition to guiding the music icons, Phillips was also an advocate for racial equality throughout the 1950s and 1960s, insisting on breaking barriers within the music industry during the civil rights movement in the U.S.
American Horror Story actress Jennifer Holland will play Phillips' wife Becky, while Inside Amy Schumer regular Margaret Anne Florence will portray his assistant-turned-girlfriend, Marion.

Bromfield, the goddaughter of late singer Amy Winehouse, took to the stage in London's West End wearing a '50s-style dress to perform a rendition of Why Do Fools Fall in Love.
Her special appearance in the rock 'n' roll-themed show was in aid of the Bbc's Children In Need Pop Goes the Musical fundraiser, in which stars perform theatre cameos for charity.
Other pop stars taking part in the project include the Sugababes, Melanie Chisholm, and Australian singer Peter Andre.

Grammy Awards producer John Cossette died Tuesday at age 54, barely a year and a half after the death of his father, Pierre Cossette, who created the awards show and was its original producer. The cause of death was not disclosed. John Cossette Productions had also produced awards specials for BET as well as the current Broadway hit, Million Dollar Quartet , about the famous recording session that brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins in December 1956. On the day of Cossette's death, Elvis Presley Enterprises announced that he had agreed to be one of the judges in this year's Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest to be held in Memphis on August 11 and 12.
