Step forward U2 frontman Bono, whom the couple met whilst staying in the South of France and quickly became super close friends with, asking him to be godfather to their twins Knox and Vivienne.

Elizabeth Hurley and Romeo and Brooklyn Beckham

Actress Elizabeth Hurley is godmother to two of longtime pals Victoria and David Beckham’s sons. Brooklyn, who was born in 1999 and Romeo who came along three years later both count Liz as their godmother. Not only that they also have some very famous godfathers in Elton John and his husband David Furnish.

Sting and Rocco Ritchie

Rocco Ritchie might have music icon Madonna for a mother, but he hasn't done too badly on the godparents front either. His godfather is former Police frontman Sting whose wife Trudie Styler is also his godmother. The Sumners, as they’re actually known, are longtime friends of Madonna and her former husband British film director Guy Ritichie.

We know she has a very famous father, but you might not have been aware of who her famous godfather was. The late King of Pop Michael Jackson was godfather to Nicole and was a close friend of her adoptive father Lionel. The pair made music together back in the 80s when they collaborated on the charity single, ‘We Are the World’.

To her fans she might be mother monster but to Elton John’s two sons she’s godmother Gaga. Elton and David Furnish chose Gaga to be godmother to their son Zachary in 2010 and she did such a good job that she was asked again when Elijah was born three years later. Elton has describe Gaga as a “wonderful godmother” and has spoke of how hands on she is saying, Gaga, “does baths and sings to them.” Maternal Gaga, who’d have thought it?
