Miley Cyrus was fortunate enough to share the stage with pop icon Madonna during the tapings of the 'We Can't Stop' singer's MTV Unplugged special in Hollywood. The singer's joined forces for the hit tracks 'We Can't Stop' and Madonna's 'Don't Tell Me'.

Miley Cyrus' special guest for MTV 'Unplugged' was Madonna

The 21 year-old filmed the set, inside studio 15 of the Sunset Gower Studios, on Tuesday evening (Jan 28th), and along with her special guest there was also a full stings section, a Hammond organ and a two-man tweaking horse, MTV reports.

The female pop artist's partnership saw a fair bit of bumping and grinding on one another, and Cyrus even plucked up the courage to slap the behind of Madonna. They both wore similar cowboy western-styled country outfits and were covered with sequins.

"That was pretty f--king cool, you guys," Cyrus said while Madonna left the stage. "It sounds super-lame, but as a pop star it's pretty cool performing with Madonna...Today was one of those days that it was really easy to get out of bed."

Madonna posted a photo on her Instagram of the pair backstage, with the caption "M &M ! Don"t ever Tell us We Can't STOP! #revolutionoflove."

However, Madonna will not be the only star joining the 'Wrecking Ball' singer onstage.

"The performance will showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus and feature surprise guests for an unexpected re-invention of the songs that have defined her career, including several from her No. 1 critically acclaimed album, Bangerz," MTV said in a press release last week. (via E!News)

"Miley and her fans have always had an intimate and direct connection through her music, personality and no-holds-barred attitude and the Unplugged stage will serve as the perfect platform for her to show viewers what inspires and ignites her music and her passions."

Turn in to MTV on Wednesday night (Jan 29th) at 9 p.m. to see who the other guests will be!
