Miley Cyrus has been forced to take out a restraining order on an fan who poses a "credible threat" to the singer.
Miley Cyrus has been forced to take out a temporary restraining order against a fan who believes the singer is speaking to him through the radio.
Miley has had to take out a restraining order against an obsessive fan.
Devon Meek, from Arizona, allegedly told police that Miley’s songs are “telling him to come to see her so that they may be together.” According to the complaint, Meek was “arrested on a mental health hold on May 16, because he was found near property he believes is owned by Cyrus.”
In the court documents, Meek is described as “a credible threat to Cyrus,” who will “not give up in the pursuit of his delusions.” Medical experts at the Los Angeles facility where Meek is currently being held have also said he has stated that when he is released, “he will not stop seeking Cyrus.”
In another statement by an LAPD detective, obtained by the Associated Press, Meek is said to have told officers they should shoot him in the head if he couldn't meet Cyrus and that “he will continue to go to Ms. Cyrus' residence until Ms. Cyrus accepts him or he dies.”
Miley is currently on her Bangerz tour
A hearing is set for June 16th to extend the restraining order to three years, where Meek will be required to stay at least 100 yards away from the singer at all times.
Miley is currently in France continuing the European leg of her Bangerz tour. The past month has seen her return to the stage after being forced to cancel a number of her US tour when she was hospitalised suffering from an allergic reaction to antibiotics.
