SIR Mick Jagger's son JAMES is the first man to be given permission to smoke indoors in London - so he can perform with cigarettes in a new play.
The 21-year-old is playing a Vietnam veteran and a Texan 'village idiot' in two black comedy plays at London fringe theatre the King's Head.
Venue bosses convinced Islington council that Jagger Jr needed to smoke real cigarettes, and secured a permit - a month after smoking was banned in public places throughout England and Wales.
A source says, "The law has been a bit of a headache for some producers because you have to prove that smoking is vital to the integrity of the production.
"But with Vietnam as the backdrop it was obvious smoking was necessary."
The news comes just days after Jagger Snr's Rolling Stones bandmates Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood were caught smoking at a concert in London - but avoided a fine.
