Veteran rocker Mick Fleetwood, folk stars The Avett Brothers and electropop band Passion Pit have joined forces to film a public service announcement (Psa) calling for donations to aid the Hurricane Sandy relief effort in New Jersey.
Officials declared a state of emergency in New Jersey after it became one of the worst-hit areas in the superstorm late last month (Oct12), leaving thousands of residents homeless and millions without power.
Now, as locals struggle to return to normalcy, stars including the Gaslight Anthem and Nicole Atkins have recorded messages for the Move for Hunger charity to raise awareness and boost funds for its RebuildRecover aid effort.
In the Psa, Fleetwood says, "They are restoring, rebuilding and recovering the communities that are so dear to our hearts, by getting donations directly to those in need."
Musicians have been doing their bit to help the recovery efforts - Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber and The Script have all donated concert proceeds to the cause, while Lady Gaga has pledged $1 million (£625,000) to the American Red Cross, while Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Christina Aguilera, Billy Joel, and Jon Bon Jovi helped raise an estimated $23 million (£14.4 million) for the organisation during a recent star-studded telethon.
