Director Michael Winterbottom has come under fire from Paul Raymond's ex-lover over his portrayal of the late British porn mogul in a new big screen biopic.

Fiona Richmond met Raymond when she auditioned to appear in a nude dance show at his iconic Windmill Theatre in London, and the pair embarked on a relationship.

Winterbottom's big screen offering The look Of Love chronicles the life and loves of the late porn mogul, played by British comedian Steve Coogan, but Richmond disapproves of the project.

She tells Britain's Daily Mail, "I don't welcome it and I am not endorsing the picture. I am not making any money out of it and I have not been asked for my approval. It was a long time ago and I have a different life now."

Richmond also dismissed her portrayal in the film by statuesque British actress Tamsin Egerton as "weird" adding, "I don't know why I am being played by a six foot two actress. No matter what I do or say they won't get it right."

The Look Of Love opens in the U.K. later this month (Apr13).
