Welsh actor Michael Sheen is backing a campaign to block the British government from slashing its legal aid budget.
Politicians in the U.K. plan to cut the amount of cash spent on providing free lawyers to represent defendants in court cases, a long-standing part of the British justice system.
Staff at campaign group Sound Off For Justice are pressuring officials to drop the proposal - and now they have celebrity backing after Frost/Nixon star Sheen signed up to the protest.
In a post on his Twitter.com blog, Sheen adds a link to the organisation's website and writes, "Please support Sound Off Justice to ensure that our right to to be heard in court through legal aid is not taken away."
