Good ole Michael McKean, not even a broken leg can dent the 'Spinal Tap' man's humour, with the 64 year-old being rushed to hospital yesterday having been hit by a car near Broadway in New York. An ambulance from St. Luke's Hospital was quickly on the scene and he was rushed there for further examination where he was assessed to have a broken leg, with other broken bones also being searched for. "Hopefully, he'll be fine," his manager had told the New York Times, "He has sustained multiple injuries and we are trying to find out the extent of other injuries," she added.
You can't keep a good man down though, and McKean has both since been on Twitter, writing "Lucky man: best wife, great kids, awesome docs and nurses, priceless friends; a little overwhelmed by the sweet tweets. Love all y'all." Whilst the Post also reports he's been laughing and joking in hospital, quipping "We always tell each other to break a leg in this business. I never thought it would happen to me this way!" What a good lad.
McKean had plenty of reason to be down, with his manager having told the Post that he missed curtain for the first time in his career after the accident - McKean is currently appearing in Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man.'
