The cast of Michael Jackson's ill-fated This Is It stageshow gathered at the late star's memorial in Los Angeles to perform his WE ARE THE WORLD charity anthem on Tuesday (07Jul09).
Musical director Kenny Ortega, who called the 1985 USA For Africa song "a living testimony" to Jackson's ability to be "timeless and timely, musical and magical," introduced the the singers who were to join the superstar for comeback dates in London later this month (Jul09).
They were joined onstage at the Staples Center by members of the King of Pop's family and the tribute's performers and speakers.
The performers were then joined by Jackson's children and a choir of assorted kids for a stirring rendition of the King of Pop's Heal The World.
The touching rendition concluded the performances at the memorial.
