A collection of Michael Jackson's personal belongings have fetched almost $1 million (£625,000) at auction.
A variety of items from the Beat It hitmaker's home went under the hammer at Julien's Auctions on Saturday (17Dec11) and one of the evening's most sought-after pieces - an armoire with a hand-written message by Jackson - sold for $25,750 (£16,094).
A kitchen chalkboard where the star's children wrote "I love daddy" fetched $5,000 (£3,125) and a rug that laid beneath Jackson's death bed sold for $15,360 (£9,600), far above the auction house officials' estimated $400 (£250) to $600 (£375).
Julien's Auctions has previously worked with the Jackson estate on a number of other occasions - earlier this year (11) the group sold the entertainer's famous Thriller jacket for $1.8 million (£1.1 million).
