Michael Jackson's outspoken father Joe has slammed speculation his children's careers have been ruined by scandal.

America's musical first family has been rocked in recent months by Michael's child molestation trial, as well as false claims his younger sister Janet is mother to a secret teen daughter.

But the patriarch, who dutifully attended Michael's trial earlier this year (05), insists fans are still unwavering in their support, and is confident his children's reputations haven't been tainted.

He says, "That's not true. I don't know how the public perceives us. All I know is we put out a record, we sell records. We go to entertainment centres to perform, we sell out."

And he insists he has no regrets about pushing his offspring into the limelight: "I wouldn't wish the family wasn't successful. I never wish that because we worked hard to make that happen.

"But what I don't like is when they try and frame the family in some fashion or way or another to make money."
