Michael Jackson's father Joe has blamed his son's aides and guards for turning the superstar into a recluse like the obsessive compulsive aviator Howard Hughes.
The Jackson clan patriarch claims he desperately tried to reach out to his son in the years before his death - but was banned by the Thriller icon's minders from making contact.
And he insists it was that group of employees who turned his son into a hermit like eccentric Hughes, who suffered a nervous breakdown while wasting away in his mansion.
He says, "His relationship was different because he was protected by the security guards. It was not only me but Katherine too. They treated him just like they did Howard Hughes.
"I knew the people weren't treating him right in the beginning but there was nothing I could do, he was his own man. All of them were cheating him."
The pop superstar passed away in his Holmby Hills home on 25 June (09) after suffering a cardiac arrest.
