Michael Jackson's THRILLER has been axed from the annual Macy's THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE in New York on Thursday (27NOV03).

The hit song was set to play as a group of Indiana high school students performed during the televised parade - but it has been replaced by JOHN MELLENCAMP's R.O.C.K IN THE USA.

BLOOMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL NORTH marching band director TOM WILSON called parade organisers as news broke of Jackson's latest child molestation investigation last week (ends21NOV03) - to tell them of the musical change.

He says, "It was no longer appropriate for the morals and the ideals and the sense of pride that the parade represents."
