Pop superstar Michael Jackson is giving fans the opportunity to celebrate his 45th birthday with him, but they have to pay for the privilege.

A party for the controversial pop prince is being held at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theater on 30 August (03) - a day after Jackson turns 45 - and devotees prepared to pay between $20 (GBP12.50) and $100 (GBP62.50) for tickets can rub with shoulders with the man himself.

Organisers - who are promising a live appearance from Jackson - are claim the party will be; "In the spirit of love, celebration and unity and is guaranteed to be an evening that everyone will enjoy!"

They are also advertising a raffle in which fans can win one of Jackson's famous fedora hats.
