Michael Jackson's family will benefit from the release of a movie featuring rehearsal footage from the superstar's doomed comeback shows - they're set to net 90 per cent of its profits.
Court documents filed on Friday (31Jul09) and released on Tuesday (04Aug09) show that Columbia Pictures has secured the rights to create a documentary using the clips.
Jackson was filmed during his final practice sessions ahead of his 50-date This Is It residency at London's O2 arena, which was due to kick off last month (Jul09).
The legal papers, obtained by TMZ.com, state that the Jackson estate will get 90 per cent of the film's profits and concert promoters AEG will get the remaining 10 per cent.
Columbia executives reportedly paid $60 million (£40 million) for the rights to the footage.
However, a Los Angeles judge must approve the deal by Monday (10Aug09). A meeting with Jackson's mother Katherine has been scheduled for the same day to see if she has any objections to the proposal.
