Michael Jackson's Posthumous 'Scream' Album Release Date Revealed

A brand new posthumous album release from Michael Jackson is set to hit shelves this September. Entitled 'Scream', it features thirteen songs in all including a bonus mash-up track by The White Panda and comes just weeks after 'Thriller' was premiered in 3D at Venice Film Festival.

The Estate of the late Michael Jackson have worked alongside two record labels to release this collection of classic tunes, including an extra special medley called 'Blood on the Dance Floor X Dangerous' by electronic remix duo The White Panda.

After a nearly four-year long legal dispute, this week Michael Jackson's long-term producer Quincy Jones is finally awarded nearly $10 million after he sued the estate for in unpaid royalties from music used in the star's documentary and two shows from Cirque du Soleil.

On Wednesday (July 26th 2017), the 84-year-old producer was handed a massive $9.4 million in damages for lack of royalties from music used in the 2009 'This Is It' documentary and two Cirque du Soleil shows. It's less than a third of the $30 million he originally sued for.

Sky have announced that they’re cancelling the broadcast of an episode of the forthcoming ‘Urban Myths’ series following the outcry over the casting of Joseph Fiennes, a white actor, as Michael Jackson.

Paris Jackson, the late star’s 18 year old daughter, waded in on Twitter on Wednesday (January 11th) to express her outrage over the first casting pictures and trailers that were released at the start of this week, which showed Fiennes wearing facial prosthetics to make him resemble the King of Pop.

“I'm so incredibly offended by it, as I’m sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit,” Paris tweeted.

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris has added her voice to the backlash surrounding the ‘whitewashing’ in the casting of Joseph Fiennes, a white actor, as her father in the upcoming series ‘Urban Myths’.

The 18 year old wrote on Twitter in response to a question asked by a Michael Jackson fan podcast, saying that the first press release images showing what Fiennes looked like playing the King of Pop, which were released on Wednesday (January 11th), made her “want to vomit”.

Joseph Fiennes has been cast as Michael Jackson in one of the most bizarre-sounding TV shows of all time. According to The Guardian, Fiennes will play the King of Pop in a one-off special for Sky Arts which dramatises a road trip he allegedly took alongside Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando, following 9/11.

Details of the most unbelievable road trip of all time were first reported by Vanity Fair in 2011. According to the story, Jackson was playing two concerts at Madison Square Garden on September 7th and 10th and had invited two of his idols, Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor.

Sir Paul McCartney has unveiled a brand new video for his hit single ‘Say, Say, Say’, an old collaboration he recorded with Michael Jackson, as part of reissue campaign for his back catalogue of albums.

The former Beatle’s 1983 single teamed him up with the biggest pop star in the world at the time, and provided both of them with a worldwide hit. Originally promoted with a western-themed music video, McCartney commissioned Ryan Heffington, who worked on Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ video, to update the track for 2015.

Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, is in intensive care following a stroke he suffered on Sunday, according to a Brazilian hospital.

An emailed statement from the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paolo on Monday morning (July 27th) said that the 87 year old patriarch of the Jackson family had a stroke the previous day and was admitted to their intensive care facility. The statement also says that he has an irregular heartbeat, but does not disclose Jackson’s precise condition at this time.

A new interview has revealed that one of the most hated movie characters of all time – Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, no less – might have been even more annoying. Michael Jackson was apparently very enthusiastic to play the irritating Gungan in prosthetic limbs, but was refused by George Lucas.

Ahmed Best, who actually did play Jar Jar, gave an interview with Vice on Thursday in which he made the revelation. Jackson, who passed away in June 2009, was known to be a keen Star Wars fan, keeping life-size figures of Darth Vader, C-3PO and Boba Fett at his Neverland ranch.

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch is on the market with an asking price of $100 million. The former Neverland Ranch, which has been renamed Sycamore Valley Ranch, is being sold by the Estate of Michael Jackson. The 2700 acre estate, located in California, was once notorious for both its fantastical theme park installations and for the extensive searches which were carried out when Jackson was accused of molesting a minor in 2003.

In one of the more random celebrity stories, Russell Crowe claims that for a long time he used to be on the receiving end of pranks pulled by the late pop legend Michael Jackson.

In an interview with British newspaper The Guardian, 50 year old Crowe revealed that the King of Pop used to enjoy gleefully prank-calling him “for two or three f***ing years”.

“I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn't matter where I was, he'd ring up do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10, you know. 'Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what's holding the roof up? Ha ha.' You're supposed to grow out of doing that, right?”

Court Rejects Bid For New Trial In Michael Jackson Case

An appeals court in California has upheld the original jury’s decision in the case of the Michael Jackson comeback concerts, which held that the promoter of the concerts was not responsible for the superstar’s death.

A 39-page ruling was delivered on Friday, a week after lawyers acting for Jackson’s mother Katherine had put in a request for a new trial. The 2nd District Court of Appeal found that the verdict absolving concert promoters AEG Live LLC was viable.

‘There Must Be More To Life Than This’ was first written by Mercury during Queen’s Hot Space album sessions, but was never finished. Mercury later visited Jackson to record his vocals for the 1984 LP The Works, but the song was still left unfinished. It would later appear as a solo track on Mercury’s album Mr Bad Guy.

The release of A Place With No Name marked a milestone of sorts – it was the first time Twitter has been used for a music video release.
