The pivitol role of Lady Macbeth is yet to be chosen, but already speculation on who could be the next Lady Macbeth is rife among internet commentators. Lena Headey, who worked with Fassbender on 300, is looking like one of the favourites for the role, with the Brit-actress more than proving her worth as a domineering Queen in the HBO series Game of Thrones. It is believed that the movie's executives have a long-list of potential suitors for the role, with at least one big name Hollywood star among those in contention for the sought-after role.
Screen Daily first reported that Fassbender is set to take on the role that has been portrayed by many of the most celebrated actors of our time, with production company See Saw, who worked Fassbender on Shame as well as the the Oscar-winning The King's Speech, teaming up with Film 4 to make the film. Justin Kurzel, best known for his 2011 crime drama Snowtown, will be directing the movie. Actor-director Todd Louiso and Jacob Koskoff are signed on to adapt the script for the screen and it is believed that the story will retain it's original dialect and 11th century settings.
