Michael Douglas is the latest star to sign on to rom-com THE GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST.
Other names attached to the A CHRISTMAS CAROL spin-off include Jennifer Garner, BRECKIN MEYER, Lacey Chabert and leading man Matthew Mcconaughey.
The FATAL ATTRACTION star will appear as the Jacob Marley character in the Mark Waters movie which sees McConaughey starring as a serial womanizer being haunted by several old flames.
The film was originally a vehicle for Garner's husband BEN AFFLECK- with McConaughey stepping in at the last minute.
Speaking to Comingsoon.net about his new leading man, the film's director said: "There's something great about Matthew.
"He has an aspect of him that he can get away with murder with women. He's the kind of guy where women are apologizing to him when he breaks up with them, because he's so charming."
He added that he was relishing the challenge of remaking Dickens' classic, which has already been made for the silver screen more than 200 times, saying: "It's always been such a delicious concept of taking a Christmas Carol and making a romantic comedy out of it."
McConaughey is currently appearing in the romantic comedy FOOLS GOLD- his second film with Hollywood golden girl Kate Hudson.
