Movie star Michael Douglas is relaxed about his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones' alleged stalker - saying his Hollywood lifestyle has prepared him for such tribulations.

DAWNETTE KNIGHT, 32, was arrested earlier this month (03JUN04) at her Beverly Hills home and charged with stalking and 24 counts of criminal threats dating back to January last year (03).

Knight, who is being held on $1 million (GBP555,000) bail because police fear she may flee, claims she had an affair with Douglas and faces up to 19 years in prison if convicted.

Douglas explains, "The stalker is part of life.

"We can't talk about the case for legal reasons. But certainly I was well-equipped to deal with it. That's one of the advantages of being second generation Hollywood.

"And Catherine started out so young, starring in a West End show at 15, 16, then getting creamed after THE DARLING BUDS OF MAY (British TV comedy series) to a point when she really had to leave the UK.

"So, we've always made our points in terms of setting boundaries."
