Killer Elite Trailer

Danny Bryce, an ex special ops agent who was considered one of the best in the world, is a retired member of Britain's Special Air Service (SAS). He is looking forward to spending his days not doing a lot, when he hears that his former mentor, Hunter, has been taken hostage by his arch enemy, Spike. As well as this, Spike has also dispatched three trained assassins - known as 'The Clinic' - to kill Danny, to stop him rescuing Hunter.

Daybreakers Review

Good
Yet another entry into the post-apocalyptic vampire/zombie catalog, this stylish film at least has a sense of its own absurdity. While it plays everything dead straight, it also has a lot of fun with the rules of the genre.

It's 2019, and a virus has turned 95 percent of the population into vampires.

The problem is that as humans become extinct the vampires are starving for blood. So haematologist Edward (Hawke) is looking for a blood substitute, driven for profits by his aggressive boss (Neill). Trials aren't going well when Edward runs into some humans (including Karvan and Dafoe) who have a radical alternative: a cure for vampirism. But Edward's human-hunting military brother (Dorman) isn't happy about this.

Triangle Review

Very Good
British filmmaker Smith (Severance) comes up with an effectively disorienting premise that consistently keeps us both unsettled and unsure what might happen next. It may be a bit vague for some viewers, but others will love it.

Jess (George) is clearly having a bad morning when she joins her friend Greg (Dorman) for a day trip on his gorgeous sailboat with his friends Sally and Downey (Carpani and Nixon), their friend Heather (Lung) and Greg's shipmate Victor (Hemsworth). After a sudden freak storm, they are rescued by an ocean liner that seems to be utterly empty. Except that they start dying one by one.

Sort of. And Jess is the only one who has an inkling that she may be able to stop the cycle of violence.

50 Ways Of Saying Fabulous Review

Good
50 Ways of Saying Fabulous, an odd and somewhat whimsical period piece set in rural New Zealand in the hot summer of 1975, ponders the confusing sexual awakenings of effete Billy (Andrew Patterson) and his best friend, the tomboyish Louise (Harriet Beattie). At the age of 12, they're not only puzzled by their new impulses but also puzzled by the kinds of things that trigger them.

Though on the surface everything looks idyllic as Billy and Lou bicycle madly across the countryside and attend a one-room schoolhouse, there's a dark undercurrent. Billy is bullied by town toughs (Louise, a rugby player, is his protector), and there's the sense that the parents of this town practice some very tough love.
