Michael Buble and his wife Luisana Lopilato have made the devastating revelation that their eldest son, Noah, has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 41 year old Canadian singer and his 29 year old wife, an Argentinian model, made the announcement via her Facebook page early on Friday (November 4th): “We are devastated by the recent diagnosis of cancer of our oldest son Noah, who is currently receiving treatment in the United States.

“We’ve always talked a lot about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I will devote all our time and attention to help Noah to get better, for now suspending our professional activities.

“During this difficult time, we ask you to pray for him and please respect our privacy. We have a long road ahead and we hope that with the support of our family, friends, fans around the world and our faith in God, we can win this battle.”

Argentinian newspaper La Nacion has additionally reported that Noah was diagnosed when he was taken to hospital with a suspected case of the mumps.

Buble and Lopilato welcomed three year old Noah into the world in August 2013, followed by his younger brother, Elias, in January of this year. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last month, the megastar singer spoke about how fatherhood has been the best thing to happen to him.

“I love them [his children] more than I'll ever love anything, or anyone in the whole universe. I think it gave me perspective on life that I think I very badly needed. It's hard to be able to quantify that level of love… the only regret that I have in my life is that I took this long to have kids, because I had no idea the perspective it would give me. I had no idea how much I would love being a dad.”
