Pharrell Williams has revealed England holds a special place in his heart because the English fans got behind his music with N.E.R.D before America did.
Pharrell Williams is ''thankful'' to his English fans for supporting him at the beginning of his career.
The 'Happy' hitmaker is in the UK this weekend to accept an accolade at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clefs Awards and perform at the Wireless Festival and he admits he has a ''soft spot'' in his heart for the country because of the way people got behind his hip-hop band N.E.R.D in the late 90s.
Speaking before accepting the Raymond Weil International Award at the ceremony at the London Hilton hotel today (04.07.14), he told BANG Showbiz: ''I have to bring the energy when I'm dealing with the English, you guys are some of the most real fans. The people in England were among the first supporters when it comes to N.E.R.D so I have a really soft spot in my heart when it comes to England. N.E.R.D worked in the UK before we worked in the States so I'm very thankful to England.''

Amy Winehouse's parents will ''never '' allow a biopic of her life to be made..
Mitch and Janice Winehouse - who are separated - would not be comfortable to see their late daughter's life story told on the big screen and would not sanction a film.
Janice insists she wouldn't feel comfortable seeing a Hollywood actress portray Amy - who tragically died from alcohol intoxication at her home in Camden, north London, in July 2011 at the age of 27 - but she and Mitch were happy to be involved in the upcoming documentary made by 'Senna' director Asif Kapadia.

Actress Jessica Hynes and soul singer Mica Paris are urging British mothers to buy Fairtrade cotton clothes for their children.
The stars are hoping to benefit the world's poorest farmers in West Africa and India, whose livelihoods rely on the growth of the fibre.
The Take a Step in 2012 campaign is aiming to boost the sales of Fairtrade cotton school uniforms for the start of the new academic year in September (12).
The Shaun of the Dead star says, "At the end of the day, I am a mother who wants mothers the world over to realise the same dreams for their children as mine. If that means choosing a Fairtrade cotton school uniform then that's a small way for me to help the women who grew the cotton have enough money to send their own children to school."

British soul singer Mica Paris lived on a diet of "coffee and cigarettes" at the beginning of her career after a record company executive criticised her fluctuating weight.
The star has spent years battling to stay slim, and she recently shed several dress sizes by adopting a healthier lifestyle, but she will never forget the day her boss insulted her figure and prompted her to adopt a series of crash diets.
She tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "When I was around 23, a record label executive told me I looked like two people in one body. I'd been a size eight and put on about two stone because my body had changed after having a baby.
"I freaked out. It hurt and it took a long time to get over that. I felt under enormous pressure to be thin, so I made sure that every time I had a record out I was skinny.
