Meredith Vieira, the American journalist and current co-host of the 'Today Show', says she's not afraid to leave her job, insisting it would give her the chance to travel with her husband. Recent reports have speculated that Vieira is ready to walk away from the show when her contract ends next year, with Katie Couric being tipped as a possible replacement.
In an interview with Ladies Home Journal, Vieira discussed the possibility of leaving the popular NBC morning show, saying, "I'll know when it's time to go, and I'm not afraid to go. If I were to leave at the end of next year because it's time for me, I wouldn't jump into another show. I would look forward to not working, to traveling with Richard and carving out time for us". The 56-year-old's contract was supposed to come to an end this year, but she signed an extension for a further 12 months.
Vieira completed the New York City marathon on Sunday (5th November 2010), running alongside NBC weatherman Al Roker. She crossed the finishing line with a time of five hours and fifty nine minutes.
