Melissa McCarthy admits ''five or six'' designers refused to make a dress in her size for the Oscar awards in 2012.
Melissa McCarthy has revealed designers refused to make a dress in her size for the Oscar awards in 2012.
The 'Bridesmaids' star, who has just created a line of plus-size clothing for women, admits a number of high-profile designers snubbed her request for the glamorous event.
Speaking in the July issue of Redbook magazine, she explained: ''Two Oscars ago, I couldn't find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers - very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people - and they all said no.''
Despite being busy with her new fashion venture, the 43-year-old actress has also been juggling her family life, and admits her marriage with Ben Falcone couldn't be better.
She said: ''We have a great marriage.''
The couple, who tied the knot in 2005, haven't let their high level of fame change their relationship because the most important thing to them is their two daughters Vivian, seven, and Georgette, four.
Melissa added: ''Outside forces can't really change that [our strong marriage]. Success doesn't define us, even though we love what we do.
''The important thing is our family and kids.''
