The pair tied the knot in a beautiful summer ceremony.
Melissa Etheridge and her partner Linda Wallem finally tied the knot in on Saturday at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The country star announced the wedding was happening via Twitter, sharing a photo of herself and her new wife looking joyous in the picturesque and leafy Californian setting. "True love...so blessed. "By the power invested in me by the state of California..." Thanks" she tweeted yesterday.
"They were so happy," a wedding guest told People. "It was really beautiful." The photo shows that the 'Bring Me Some Water' star opted for a flamboyant grey suit with coattails and a purple necktie whilst her lover wore a stunning, textured, white summer wedding gown. Flowers were clearly a key theme for the nuptials and are featured prominently in the garden's floral scenery as well as in the Nurse Jackie creator's large bouquet.
The newlyweds, who married just two days after their joint 53rd birthdays, welcomed a close circle of celebrity friends and family members to their big day, including Jane Lynch, Chelsea Handler, Rosie O'Donnell, Whitney Cummings, Peter Facinelli and Sia. Melissa's four children were also present, including Bailey Jean Cypher, 17, Beckett Cypher, 15, and twins Miller Steven Etheridge and Johnnie Rose Etheridge, who are both seven.

The intimate outdoor ceremony also reportedly included Melissa serenading Linda with a new song written for the occasion; something the musician had hinted at in the days preceding the wedding. "Ok, so I might be singing a brand new song that no one has ever heard to someone special at a intimate gathering Sat..just wanted to share," she hinted on Wednesday.
Linda and Melissa were good friends for over a decade before their romance blossomed in 2010. The pair announced their engagement last June after the Supreme Court deemed the Defence of Marriage Act unconstitutional, allowing gay couples to wed.
"I look forward to exercising my American civil liberties and getting fully, completely and legally married this year to my true love of over three years, Linda Wallem," a proud and excited Etheridge tweeted at the time.
