Melanie Sykes caused a stir when she began dating Jack Cockings, a man who began sending her flirty messages on Twitter, so we're guessing she's going to raise a few eyebrows with her latest news. Yep, you've guessed it, the 42-year-old is engaged to marry the man himself.
Sykes, who first found fame in an advert for Boddingtons Beer, met Jack online when he asked her out on a date. She told fans this week, "To my beautiful twitter friends just want to let you know that me [and] Jack are engaged to be married and we are very giddy xxxx". It's been a whirlwind romance for the television presenter, who has two children from her marriage to the Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone, which ended in 2009. A former model, Sykes has also appeared on the likes of 'The Big Breakfast' and formed a successful partnership with Des O'Connor on 'Today with Des and Mel'. She also had a brief spell on Radio 2 with Alan Carr, who tweeted his pal today, saying, "Congratulations love!!! So pleased for you both. Bring on the hen party!! ha ha".
Though the romance took everyone by surprise, Sykes had previously claimed she was happier than ever with Jack, telling the UK's Sun newspaper. "Im extremely happy, and vice versa. He'll come to see me and still have roofing bitumen on his hands. I don't care".
