Melanie Chisholm has cast doubt on reports the Spice Girls will reform for a special show celebrating the Olympic Games in London next year (12), insisting she knows nothing about a reunion gig.
The Wannabe hitmakers were rumoured to be planning a spectacular comeback at the opening ceremony of the event next July.
Chisholm is adamant they have not been approached to perform, but she admits she'd love the chance to be involved in the sporting showpiece.
She tells Bbc Radio 2, "That is the rumour. I don't know where the rumour started. But unfortunately, I have not been asked and I'm not happy about it because I want to do it. Anything to support the Olympics next year. I'm so excited about the Olympics being in London."
The Spice Girls split in 2000, two years after the departure of Geri Halliwell. They reformed for a comeback tour in 2007.
