Mel Gibson has been handed a Rosh Hashanah blow as he moves forward with plans to turn historical Jewish hero Judah Maccabee's life story into a new movie - producer Bruce Nash is planning a rival production.
Gibson, who has been developing his project for the past decade, came under attack from Jewish officials earlier this year (11) - they felt he was the wrong person to make a movie about the man who inspired Hanukkah following the anti-Semitic comments he made to a traffic cop during a driving under the influence (Dui) arrest in 2006.
And it appears Nash agrees - and he has a completed script for a planned mini-series.
