LATEST: The man accused of stalking Mel Gibson has been ordered to stand
Los Angeles Superior Court judge LELAND HARRIS ruled yesterday (02DEC04)
that there was enough evidence to try 34-year-old drifter ZACK SINCLAIR on a
felony count of stalking.
The defendant remains jailed on $500,000 (GBP263,157) bail pending a 16
December (04) arraignment.
Sinclair was arrested in September (04) for stalking the actor-director.
He allegedly wrote letters to Gibson about his controversial movie The Passion
OF THE CHRIST and showed up at the movie star's home and demanded to speak with
In a court filing, Gibson said the man also interrupted his worship on 19
September (04) at a chapel and "demanded that I pray with him" before the
film-maker's bodyguard escorted him out.
