Mel Gibson is poised to resurrect his movie career in 2011 - his new film THE BEAVER has been given a spring (11) release date.
Gibson's latest offering, which has been directed by Jodie Foster, was put on hold when the actor hit the headlines earlier this year (10) amid reports of a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
His reputation took a further hit after he and Grigorieva began a bitter custody battle over their daughter, Lucia, and the controversy is said to have cost him a cameo in the upcoming The Hangover sequel.
But executives at Summit Entertainment are now ready to launch Gibson's comeback - the studio has confirmed the movie will hit theatres in spring (11).
A source tells the Los Angeles Times that bosses are tentatively considering a weekend in April (11) for the release.
