Funnyman Mel Brooks is hoping to follow up his smash-hit The Producers musical by bringing his Young Frankenstein comedy to the Broadway, New York stage.

Brooks is considering reworking his 1974 comedy, starring Gene Wilder and Teri Garr, as an all-singing, all-dancing stage musical.

He says, "Whether it comes out oor not, I don't know, but we're having fun working on it. I have six or seven songs written for it."
