Former SPICE GIRL Melanie Brown is hoping to get her ailing career back on track finally after winning a part in the musical RENT.

The singer and actress, 29, is hoping to carve out a successful career on the stage after being chosen to appear in the Broadway, New York PULITZER PRIZE winning show.

Brown has given up hopes of a musical career despite initial success when the Spice Girls disbanded in 1998, and has been struggling to land acting roles since relocating to America from her native Britain.
