Meghan Trainor delighted fans in New York on Tuesday (21st June 2016) when she took to NBC's 'Today' show stage to perform songs from her latest album 'Thank You'. The singer played her a number of songs including 'All About That Bass' and her latest single 'Me Too'.
The singer wants to write songs everyone can relate to
Meghan Trainor recently hit the headlines when she pulled the music video to her latest single, Me Too, after declaring her production company had photoshopped it and it no longer looked like her. The 22-year-old singer said she was “embarrassed” by it and has since said she wants to be the girl that talks about things others are too shy to do.

'25' sold more than Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Sam Smith put together in 2015 - despite only being on sale for the last five weeks of the year!
Confirming what we essentially already knew, Adele’s global domination is total, with the news that her latest album 25 outsold the rest of the top five bestsellers around the world put together in 2015.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), a global body representing the music industry, reports that her long-awaited third album sold 17.4 million units in 2015, despite only coming out in late November. As a result, the organisation concludes that Adele has helped to reverse “two decades of almost uninterrupted decline” in the music business.

At the judges’ houses the remaining groups were rebranded over ‘copyright issues’.
The six acts in Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s ‘Groups’ category on the ‘X—Factor’ have all undergone name changes during the judges’ houses round. The name changes are said to be due to ‘copyright’ issues, but it’s common practice in the groups’ category to give acts a rebranding before the live shows.

While a spokesperson for the show confirmed to the Express that the acts had undergone name changes, they did not comment further. The changes are said to have taken place to avoid any potential ‘copyright issues’.

Meghan Trainor, Jess Glynne and Mark Ronson are the other celebrity guests helping the judges select who goes through to the live rounds.
ITV has announced some pretty major names from the pop world as guests for the judges’ houses stage of ‘The X Factor’ over the next few weeks, the biggest of which is former alumnus of the show Louis Tomlinson who’ll be assisting Simon Cowell.
23 year old Tomlinson, who finished in third place on ‘The X Factor’ with One Direction back in 2010, will be helping Cowell choose which singers from the “overs” category will be going through to the live shows later in the series. Tomlinson will be replacing Cowell’s regular aide Sinitta in the chair, and ends speculation linking former judge Louis Walsh with the role.

A second vocal cord haemorrhage has caused the 'All About That Bass' singer to call off her lengthy North American tour.
Meghan Trainor has cancelled the remainder of her current ‘MTrain’ tour of North America following a second vocal cord haemorrhage in quick succession. Her first nationwide tour had been expected to go through to the end of September.

The veteran singer-songwriter had been waiting nearly 50 years for a US Number One album.
Throughout his lengthy and prestigious career, singer-songwriter James Taylor has achieved many great things, but a US Number One album has always eluded him: until today! Taylor’s 47 year wait for a Billboard chart topping LP came to an end this week as it was announced that his new effort Before This World had outsold all rivals.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, Taylor’s 17th studio album sold 97,000 copies in its first week of release to debut atop the Billboard 200, with 96,000 of those coming through actual album sales (as opposed to streaming or track equivalents). His very first album, a self-titled effort, was released in December 1968 but only achieved a chart peak of Number 62 in the US.

'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' is Number 1 in the UK and the States at the same time, only the ninth album this decade to do so.
Florence Welch may be recovering from a broken foot, but she’s got even more good news to make her feel better, as the third Florence + The Machine album has entered the American charts at Number One, her first record to reach the summit in the States.
How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful sold 137,000 copies in its first week on sale to debut at the top spot in the Billboard 200 albums chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
