Actress Megan Fox has split from her partner of 11 years, Brian Austin Green, according to reports. The couple had been an item since meeting on the set of Hope & Faith in 2004, when Green was 30 and Fox just 18.

A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that the couple have been effectively split up for quite some time. “Megan has separated from Brian,” the insider revealed. “They decided on it six months ago.”

The former couple are parents to two sons – Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 18 months – but have not been seen in public together since June 9th. It’s been rumoured that the pair have quarrelled about her career, with Megan (now 29) frequently away making movies. Their representatives have not yet officially commented.

“She was obsessed with getting roles,” the source offered as a reason for the decision. “She has gone off and done her own thing recently.” For example, the magazine reports that the couple had decided to renovate their family home some time ago, but that Fox “was never around” to get work completed, leaving Green taking care of the children.

However, they have determined to remain on amicable terms for the sake of their sons, the source was also at pains to emphasise.

The pair have split in the past, calling off their three-year engagement in 2009 with Fox saying to the same publication back then that: “marriage isn’t a realistic goal for someone who is 23.” However, Green re-proposed the following year, with the pair finally trying the knot just a month later.

Speaking about her growing family in the last year, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star Fox said: “I love our family – I have a little football team that’s going to take care of me. I like being around boys and being the centre of attention in my family because I’m the matriarch, the queen bee.”
