Meek Mill has axed a planned tour after a judge banned the rising rapper from leaving his U.S. hometown for the rest of the month (Dec12).
The Ima Boss hitmaker, real name Robert Williams, was found guilty of assault, gun possession and drug charges in 2008, and was subsequently handed an 11-month jail sentence and five years probation.
He was banned from leaving his native Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in November (12) after missing a court hearing, and he went back to court on Monday (17Dec12) in a bid to have travel restrictions lifted so he could tour Africa.
However, Judge Genece Brinkley, of Philadelphia Municipal Court, denied the request and grounded the rapper for another month, according to Philly.com.
Meek Mill was due to travel to Los Angeles for an appearance on Conan O'Brien's U.S. talk show on Wednesday (19Dec12), but he has been forced to scrap his plans, along with his tour, following his latest legal setback.
