British pop rockers McBusted are to seal their status as a supergroup by signing a deal to record an album of new music.

The band, which is an amalgamation of members of Busted and MCFly, threw fans into a frenzy by announcing a 34-date arena tour for next year (14), and many of gigs sold out in minutes.

The stars are now poised to make music together with reports suggesting they are preparing to ink a record deal.

A source tells Britain's The Sun, "Originally the plan was for MCFly to release their new album before the MCBusted tour. But the reaction to the supergroup has been so overwhelming, it makes sense for the boys to focus on that."

The band will reportedly announce its album plans on Monday (09Dec13).
