Kristen Wiig And Haley Joel Osment will be returning for ‘The Spoils of Babylon’ sequel, ‘The Spoils Before Dying’ network IFC has announced, while Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph has also been added to the miniseries’ ever growing cast.

Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer, Steve Tom and Marc Evan Jackson who starred in the original miniseries which aired last year, have also singed on return. While joining Maya Rudolph in bringing some new blood to the series will be Kate McKinnon, Tim Meadows, Chris Parnell, Emily Ratajkowski, Andrew Daly, Chris Mulkey, Chin Han, Jack Kilmer, Patty Guggenheim and Berenice Marlohe.

This time the six parter will follow struggling jazz pianist Rock Banyon (played by Michael Kenneth Williams) who turns private eye when he becomes embroiled in a murder investigation. Will Ferrell will once again be on hand to play boozy author Eric Jonrosh and the comedian will also be producing the sequel along with his 'Funny or Die' partner Adam McKay.

According to The Wrap the series will be set in 1962 and begins with Rudolph’s character singer Fresno Foxglove being found dead in a car with another man. As Rock Banyon is targeted as the murder's prime suspect, the musician heads for Mexico where he is reunited with his former signer Delores O’Dell (played by Kristen Wiig).

Determined to prove he is innocent and avoid the electric chair, the pair head back to the U.S. to search for the truth, while, Rock’s manager Alistair St. Barnaby (Haley Joel Osment) obliviously pressures the musician to record a mainstream jazz album.

“We couldn’t have asked for a more talented cast to usher in the sophomore season of this miniseries,” Jennifer Caserta, IFC’s president told The Wrap. “We’re also thrilled to have so many of last year’s Spoils cast members returning for Jonrosh’s latest adaption, particularly Kristen Wiig who received an Emmy nomination for her hilariously epic performance.”
