Rockers Maximo Park were forced to turn away fans from a charity gig in Newcastle, England - when over 2,500 people turned up to claim 400 free tickets.
Organisers of the concert at Newcastle College Performance Academy were overwhelmed by the repose to Tuesday (24Mar09) night's gig - which saw tickets given away for free in return for a small donation to Britain's No Surrender charity.
Thousands for fans queued for hours in a bid to secure entry to the concert - but most were turned away as the venue could not hold more than 400 people.
No Surrender supports cancer sufferers through social network site The charity was set up by the band's friend Jason Boas, who recently passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
