Jeanette Walls is raised with the idea that city life is not something to be desired. Her parents put themselves across to her and her siblings Lori, Brian and Maureen as adventurous travellers who believe that they don't need a proper education or a house with all the usual amenities - all they need is the open road and the stars. The reality is that her father Rex is an alcoholic and her mother Rose Mary is a failed artist and occasional teacher. They are constantly uprooting the kids and moving them around as they escape the FBI and their mounting debts, compromising their future as they disrupt their schooling. Eventually Jeannette and the others escape their parents for a life the complete opposite of what they grew up with, and have to find it within themelves to forgive them and show them that they are truly happy.

Since the loss of her mother, Doris hasn't really had much companionship. She has her best friend and work colleagues but love has always been something that's alluded her. She once had an offer of marriage but knowing that this would separate her from her mother, she declined.

Sure, John might be a few years her junior and into very different things to herself, but Doris has a niggling feeling she can't leave alone. Doris might be a little bookish and bespectacled but she decides to explore new methods to attract her man.
Along the way Doris befriends some of John's friends, who at first might seem entirely different to Doris but in actuality have a lot of similarities. Doris must find a way to balance her new and old friends and also win her man. Hello, My Name is Doris actually started out as an eight minute short called Doris and the Intern, written and directed by Laura Terruso. Director Michael Showalter instantly saw the potential in the initial footage and started work on a large scale version of the film.

When Dr. Michael Burry discovered that the housing market in the US relied upon a series of bad loans in 2005, he knew there was profit to be had. He even went as far as moving on from his multi-million dollar Scion Capital LLC hedge fund in a bid to short the market and take advantage of the vulnerable housing deals. But he wasn't the only one with plans to accrue wealth off the back of financial disaster; Steve Eisman was a hedge fund manager who had a lot to say against the greedy banks, as did Cornwall Capital partner Ben Hockett and Deutsche Bank trader Greg Lippmann. These are financial outsiders that are about to show the banks a serious lesson when they use their economic skills to bring them down with a brave move in the credit default swap market.

A riff on the 1983 classic The Big Chill, this ensemble drama's reunion of old friends differs because Alex's suicide fails this time. It's also, of course, filtered through a very different cultural landscape, with characters born at about the time the earlier film was released. This is a strikingly warm exploration of friendship, with light comedy and very dark emotions along the way. And even if it sometimes feels a little sloppy about its big themes, it has a lot to say.
After Alex (Jason Ritter) attempts suicide, his best pal Ben (Nate Parker) calls the old gang and asks them to come to Upstate New York and offer some support. Ben brings his girlfriend Siri (Maggie Grace), who's also part of the group. But they're grappling with some big issues in their relationship, since he's a blocked writer and she has just had a job offer in Los Angeles. The cynical Josh (Max Greenfield) arrives at the same time as the charmer Sarah (Aubrey Plaza), and they can barely conceal the waves of loathing and lust between them. Finally, Isaac (Max Minghella) brings his younger girlfriend Kate (Jane Levy). As these people reconnect, the awkwardness is made even more intense by the question of how they can help Alex.
It's intriguing to see a movie made about 30-ish characters by 28-year-old Jesse Zwick, son of filmmaker Edward, who made the seminal TV series Thirtysomething. The film refreshingly avoids stereotypes, populating scenes with realistic people who are still hung up on the same issues they faced while in university, including quite a lot of soapy "he likes her but she likes him" melodrama. But as the weekend progresses, the thoughtful conversations lead to revelations and confessions, spurred on by some pot-smoking, game-playing, dancing and noisy sex. All of which gives the actors plenty to play with.

'New Girl' has been renewed for its fourth season, we look at what makes Zooey Deschanel's series one of the best shows on television.
New Girl has gained such an enthusiastic and loyal fan base since it began back in 2011 that it is now considered one of the best shows on television. The series, which follows the antics of wacky Jess and her three male housemates, has become popular with both men and women, replacing the FRIENDS-shaped void left in our lives when Ross, Rachel and crew left us back in 2004 (was it that long ago?!).
Zooey Deschanel on the set of New Girl
The show’s creator, Elizabeth Meriwether, has claimed that on any other show Jess would have been left on the sidelines of the major action, whereas in New Girl, she is the star. The show marketed Zooey’s character as “Simply Adorkable”, in comparison to her much more conventionally cool friend, model Cece.
