Peaches Geldof, the socialite daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, has announced the birth of her first child. The 23-year-old announced the news in the thoroughly modern manner of using Twitter, announcing "Yes, its true- I'M A MUMMY!!!!" through the social media site. Her other half THOMAS COHEN also announced his jubilation through the site, posting; "I'm a dad he is the most perfect thing ever so proud of his beautiful mum @peaches_g and overcome with joy x."
The baby was due for birth on the same day as Peaches' late mother, April 24th, however despite arriving a few days ahead of schedule it is a perfectly health baby boy. A spokesperson for the couple has since confirmed the birth, although the exact time and day were not confirmed. The spokesperson also went on to announce that the child would be named Astala.
The pair, who became engaged in December 2011, have yet to announce their plans for marriage, although when they finally do announce any impending plans this will not be a first for Peaches. Miss Geldof was first married to musician MAX DRUMMEY, from the group Chester French, however the pair split after only six months together following a quickie marriage in Las Vegas.
