Hip-hop star Gudda Gudda is calling on fans to sign a petition to free jailed rapper Max B.

The star, real name Charly Wingate, was sentenced to 75 years behind bars for felony murder and armed robbery for his involvement in an incident at a New Jersey hotel in 2007 which left one victim dead.

He appealed against the conviction but the case was thrown out by New Jersey's Superior Court Appellate Division panel in August (12).

His new petition for release, Pardon The Wave, has attracted support within the music community and Young Money artist Gudda Gudda, real name Charles Lilly Jr., has thrown his support behind the campaign.

He tells Allhiphop.com, "I definitely support Max B. Free Max B. Sign that petition. That's why I tweeted the petition out, hopefully he will come home."

Max B is not eligible for parole until 2042.
